PUNO - BASIC TOUR

Puno is located in the mountainous south of Peru, it shares a border with Bolivia. The land is more or less flat, because much of it is on the Collao plateau. Its the home of the  the largest lake in South America: Lake Titicaca. Peru and Bolivia share sovereignty over this navigable lake, which is the highest in the world at 3,810 masl. It has an area of 8,559 km2 and has a maximum depth of 283 metres. The annual average temperature of its waters varies, from between 9°C and 15°C from October to May, and from -14°C to -2°C, June to September.

DAY 01: PUNO - SILLUSTANI

Upon your arrival at the airport of Juliaca, we will transfer you to the city of Puno. In the afternoon, we will visit the archaeological ruins of Sillustani, known as "Chullpas". These chullpas are architectural constructions made of carved volcanic rock that are also funerary towers of the Kolla royalty. At the same time, they are considered a sanctuary to fertility. Accommodations for the night at the hotel of your choice.

DAY 02: EXCURSION TO UROS ISLANDS - TAQUILE ISLAND (BREAKFAST AND LUNCH INCLUDED)

Breakfast is included in the hotel accommodation. We will visit the Sacred Lake of the Incas and the floating islands of Uros, where the locals still preserve their ancient customs, such as fishing and hunting. Then, we will visit Taquile. Taquile is an island of great cultural and natural importance. The locals work mainly in agriculture, pottery and fishing. They still keep their ancient traditions and practice Inca laws. For instance, they still perform traditional festivities, religious rites and folkloric rituals. Lunch included in the tour.

DAY 03: PUNO - CHECK OUT (BREAKFAST INCLUDED)

Breakfast is included in the hotel accommodation. At the agreed time, we will transfer you to the bus terminal or train station and assist you for boarding.
