CUSCO - BASIC TOUR

Cusco's flawless architectural design, together with its history, makes it one of the most appealing cities in the world. Every night, Cusco's main square looks elegant with its yellow lights illuminating the surrounding impressive arches and the Cathedral's façade. Compañía de Jesús church also looks at its most beautiful at night. 112 km away from Cusco, we can find the mysterious and millenary citadel of Machu Pichu (at 2'500 meters above sea level - 8'202 ft). Known as the "Lost City of the Incas", Machu Picchu was discovered in 1911 by American explorer Hiram Bingham. It is built out of granite structures, arranged along sinuous paths and stone stairs. The citadel still preserves its military fortifications, temples, altars, its solar watch, squares, fountains and aqueducts, as well as its famous terraces, where agriculture was performed.

DAY 01: CUSCO: TREK THROUGH THE CITY & NEARBY RUINS

Upon your arrival at Cusco airport, we will take you to the hotel of your choice, where you will enjoy some coca tea. You will have the rest of the morning free to become acclimatized. In the afternoon, we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco, Koricancha (the Temple of the Sun), Sacsayhuaman fortress, Kenko amphitheater and the water sources in Tambomachay. We will also enjoy a panoramic view of Puca Pucara red fortress.

DAY 02: CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO (BREAKFAST AND LUNCH INCLUDED)

At the agreed time, we will take you to the train station to begin our journey towards Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the modern world. Once in Aguas Calientes, we will take the bus (30 minutes) up to the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. We will have a guided tour through the main enclosures of the urban and agricultural areas and then we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes to have lunch. At the agreed time, we will take the train back to Cusco. Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo or Cusco train station, we will transfer you to the hotel of your choice.

DAY 03: CUSCO - CHECK OUT (BREAKFAST INCLUDED)

At the agreed time, we will take you to the airport so that you can board your plane.
