Upon our arrival, we will be welcomed by the staff. We will transfer you by private transportation to Posada Amazonas Lodge. For this, we will take you to the port, located in the indigenous community of Infierno, administered by a community initiative. For lunch, we will provide you a lunch box. We will transfer by boat from Tambopata's port to Posada Amazonas. In the afternoon, we will visit the Canopy Tower (30 meters high - 98 ft) located 20 minutes away from Posada Amazonas. From up high, we will admire the spectacular view over Tambopata river and the treetops. This is a great opportunity to observe the birds that live on the treetops, such as the toucans, parrots and macaws. Dinner. Accommodation for the night at Posada Amazonas.

We will board a catamarán boat to visit Tres Chimbadas lake with an indigenous rower. We will admire the river fauna when it is most active. We will look for caimans, birds, peculiar shanshos and, hopefully, giant otters, known for being the biggest river otter in the world. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will have an Ethnobotanical tour, in which we will visit the Ñape Center. The center is a community organization that produces medicines using medicinal plants. Dinner. We will have the opportunity to do a walk at night, when most of the mammals are active, although difficult to see. Accommodations for the night at Posada Amazonas.

Breakfast. We will visit the parrot collpa (a clay river wall). From a hidden place, we will observe the parrots and parakeets arriving (especially when the sky is clear) to eat some clay from the collpa. In the afternoon, we will have a 2-hour hike with the purpose of finding the highest tree in the region: the giant kapok tree. Lunch. Then, we will visit a farm, whose owner grows a wide range of known and unknown plants. Dinner. Accommodations for the night at Posada Amazonas.

Breakfast. We will transfer you from Posada Amazonas to the port. We will return to the headquarters in Puerto Maldonado for a short time and then transfer you to the airport. Please be aware that, depending on the departure time, a very early check out might be necessary.
